Obesity-In our country obesity is a public health crisis. We have more than 100 million people with obesity. If you are a diabetic, you are at high-risk for following conditions:

  • Cancer(certain types like Breast, Ovarian, Thyroid, Gallbladder etc).

Medications for weight loss

  • SEMAGLUTIDE: it is a GLP-1 Agonist that has been FDA approved for weight loss. We administer compounded Semaglutide. it is administered as once a week injection. The dose is increased monthly. Patients achieve 5-20% or greater weight loss.
  • Side effects-most common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, abdomen, headache etc. Some of the side effects fade away as your body adjusts to the medicine
  • One should not use this medicine if there is personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN 2(multiple endocrine neoplasia)
  • PHENTERMINE: it is a prescription medicine used to decrease appetite. It can help one lose weight by making one less hungry. It is a pill that is used once daily. Average weight loss is about 5%.
  • Side effects– it can cause rapid or irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, restlessness, insomnia.
  • B12 Shots: B12 is an important vitamin that can help regulate your metabolism. It has been used as a weight loss tool for years. B12 shots have been shown to boost energy levels as well. It is often used in conjunction with Semaglutide.
